AM-2 is a patented product developed in the Czech Republic in early 1990. It is an injectable solution prepared by a compounding pharmacy according to specific guidelines. The individual ingredients contained in the composition are already known to be safe in nature, non-toxic, and present in the human body. When used in the treatment of malignancies, the medication belongs to a group of cancer treatment drugs commonly known as "Biological Response Modifiers" or "Biological Therapies".

Biological therapies can be classified into three categories:

a. Active immunotherapy
b. Passive immunotherapy
c. Cytotoxic (Tumor Cell Modulation)

AM-2 falls under the category of active immunotherapies that set in motion a general immune response by activating a broad range of immune cells.
